The IVX is a Silicon Valley start-up. The Founders are Ken Choi and Anson Chen. Mr Choi worked at Lockheed-Martin Research Data Center as an electrical engineer responsible for designing the GPS guidance ASIC system for the Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles Program (ICBM’s)and served as the CTO of Savi Inc., the provider of scalable and complete Sensor-based Analytics solutions (RFID), that provides critical tracking and asset management. Mr Choi managed over $4B in networking assets at the Palo Alto Research Laboratory. Mr Chen served as the Vice President/General Manager of the Network Management Technology Group at Cisco Systems and was the Division Head of Motorola’s Mobile Software Group, where he worked with Motorola Labs to deliver advanced VoIP, Video/IP, Security and Communications platforms for the Public-Safety Sector. The two formed The IVX to deliver the most advanced Video Communications Platform that can scale to military-grade deployments and Incident Management Applications for inter-agency and multijurisdictional collaboration.
The IVX and its strategic partners are dedicated to delivering innovative, high performance, fully integrated solutions for the Public Safety Sector that effectively manages collaboration among multiple agencies, improve crisis management response time. In addition, The IVX offers investment protection by adopting future-proof software platforms that support mission critical operations and provides secure affordable surveillance video storage for private enterprises and public safety organizations.
Management Team
Ken Choi, Co-Founder
Ken was the CEO and co-founder of International Data Security (IDS). He is a recognized leader in the networking industry and has been in the data center world since its inception. Prior to founding IDS, Ken founded DataRiver and served as Chief Architect at Lockheed Missiles and Space Company. While at Lockheed and DataRiver, he built 12 Data Centers, one of which was developed in the early 1990s for Cisco Engineering and entailed high density requirements. He also built a data center to replicate over 500,000 nodes for Juniper Engineering Labs. Ken has consulted for Deloitte, Touche and Komatsu, Price Waterhouse, and Arthur Anderson regarding WAN and LAN infrastructure issues for their clients. Ken has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University and a M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
Anson Chen, Founder
Anson was formerly the Corporate Vice President of Motorola Software Group managing 7,000 developers in 18 locations across the globe. Anson was responsible for all Operating Systems R&D from Base Stations to Mobile Handsets. Prior to Motorola, Anson was VP/GM of Infrastructure Security Engineering at Juniper Networks following the acquisition of Netscreen Technologies where Anson was VP of R&D. Before Netscreen, Anson bolstered his networking career while at Cisco Systems, Inc. He played a major role in the penetration of IP Routers in the Enterprise and later in the Service Provider markets. Anson holds a B.S. in Computer Science from McGill University in Montreal, Canada.
Michelle Chen, CEO
Michelle Chen has been serving as the CEO of The IVX since its inception. Prior to The IVX, she was an executive at Rosenberg Real Estate Equity Funds (RREEF), a US-based unit of the Deutsche Bank group that manages close to $20 billion in equity investments. Before RREEF, Michelle held various management positions at Ionair, a company specializing in Solar Energy. In addition to working at The IVX, she is an angel investor in early stage start-ups based in Silicon Valley and China. Michelle holds a Business degree from the University of San Francisco.
Weiping Li, PhD. CTO
Weiping has done extensive research on Fine Granularity Scalable Video Coding and Shape Adaptive Wavelet Coding resulting in several filed patents and inclusion into the MPEG-4 International Standard. He is a founding member of the Board of Directors of MPEG-4 Industry Forum and has made technology contributions to the Chinese Audio Video coding Standard (AVS) and its applications. Weiping's talents extend beyond technology research - he served as a full-time teaching Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at Lehigh University. Weiping completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Science and Technology of China with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. His post graduate accomplishments include an M.S. and PhD from Stanford University, both in Electrical Engineering.
Jim Molinary, Executive Advisor
Jim is a member of The IVX's advisory board for the Public Safety Vertical. He most recently served as a state director for Senator Dianne Feinstein. During The Clinton administration, Jim served as the United States Marshal for the Northern District of California. Jim has also served as the executive director overseeing the coordination and implementation of law-enforcement initiatives of the San Francisco Bay Areas High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program. Jim's 45-year career in Public service started with SFPD. As Jim rose through the ranks, he became a senior staff member of the mayor's office. Jim was responsible for security for both the mayor and visiting dignitaries, and he served as the mayor's advisor on law enforcement matters. From Jim's rich experience, He has developed a vision of leveraging High-tech advances to improve response time in times of Public safety crisis. Jim is playing an instrumental role in the implementation of The IVX's flagship product, the Virtual Command Center which facilitates Multi-agency, cross-jurisdictional collaboration to respond to Emergencies.
